My work starts with a love of the visually interesting and well-designed, and throughout my carreer, it's been my main focus.
When I begin a website, I first get an understanding of what my client wants the site to say, so that I can create the initial look, which is what makes the first impression, and draws people in.
That's the effect, and function of good design – to bring the viewer in to what you have to say and that's what I keep in mind as I work.
An artist by training and sensibility, I
see the web, and each of my projects as it's own art piece, with it's particular personality, objectives, goals and dreams.
This is what I bring to the collaboration; art and design experience, the technical expertise to make it all work, and the vision to see what's right on target for your business or other endeavor.
I've been designing websites for over a dozen years, and still find it magical.
It was the magic that attracted me to it in the first place.
I had been doing illustration and design when I decided to self-publish a children's book on adoption, and put it online.
(still there – Adoption Book )
This was not as easy as it sounds now.
At that point, I'd never even owned a computer!
The first iMacs came out and the ad campaign made it sound so simple, I got one, took a few workshop-type classes, and it was off to the races. Well, the starting gate, anyway.
So, as my book endeavor unveiled itself, there suddenly became so much more to learn, and within a couple of years, I was teaching web design at local colleges!
